My previous working life had been in an accounting environment. After many years I decided to change my route due to moving to the Isle of Wight. I found that I needed to change my employment to match what was on offer here. I applied for care jobs enabling me to earn a wage and drifted into cooking in various care homes and then using my skills from the domestic side, i also worked as a domestic utilising my Hygiene Certificate knowledge within domestic environments.

I started working in the hospitality environment which suited me personally and professionally. I continued to gain more experience in this field and finally achieved 5* bed and breakfast and self-catering standards during my employment at Godshill here on the Isle of Wight.

Circumstances in life can change as we all know so I have decided to work with my daughter Charlotte as an equal partner, doing what comes naturally. This led to us creating New Dawn Domestics. We both know all too well that there are women with busy lives who have families that need a helping hand from time to time.

Being a working wife and mum I have an insider’s understanding of how busy life really is. Each day is rather full for one reason or another and the working day doesn’t stop just because you may leave your work premises. 

My reasons for going into business are really quite simple. I have and always will work hard to produce high standards no matter what I do, so why not do it whilst doing something that I enjoy and which comes so natural to me. But this time do it for my own business, in my own way under my own steam.

Anybody who knows me knows I am a clean and tidy person with quite particular standards.

I personally have worked in Retail for 14 years. Working in many different types of shops from clothes shops to top retail chains and finally assisting the management of a network store. In all of my roles I have gained a vast understanding of customer service. Knowing and understanding your customers’ needs is crucial. Utilizing all my skills in a way that provides you 100% customer satisfaction and high standards.
